What happens at Playgroup?
Playgroup is a fun and supportive environment for kids (0-4 years) and their parents. It encourages children to learn through play with activities incorporating pasting, painting, stamping, drawing, puzzles, water, sand, climbing, building, singing, listening and much more! It is also a place for parents to build friendships and gain support in their very important role as mum, dad or care-giver.
Each session follows a general routine including indoor play, story time, snack time, outdoor play and concluding with song time. Sandwiches and a drink are supplied for the children along with tea and coffee for the adults. Parents are welcome to bring fruit for their children to supplement the sandwiches if they choose. Parents contribute to the functioning of the session by being on a roster for providing morning tea, a table activity, cleaning up and reading the story.
Playgroup is run by WDBC for all members of the community and therefore we celebrate Christmas and Easter, say grace before eating, have a “thought for the day” to encourage the adults and sometimes include Christian themes or bible stories in our program. However no church affiliation is required to attend playgroup.

Social Activities
We recognise the importance of family as well as the need for parents to have time out. Therefore, at different times of the year we offer activities for the whole family to attend as well as child-free social nights for parents.
Mothering Matters
![]() | ||
Mothering matters is a course that runs during term 2 & 4. It exists to help meet the unique needs of mums with young children (newborns to pre-school & primary-aged children) who all share a desire to be the best mums they can be! Mothering matters is a course which seeks to encourage mums that they are not alone, and that they are doing something of incredible worth - mothering really does matter! Mothering matters changes lives, builds families, and helps children by helping mums be the best they can be! Download a brochure below
