What is a Christian? What is Christianity?Christianity is a world faith, for people of every nation and language. The Christian faith is founded on the teachings and life of Jesus Christ, as written in the New Testament. Those who believe and follow Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour are called Christians. Christianity is a way of life and so for two thousand years Christians have been on the forefront of caring for the sick and needy, providing justice for the poor and the abused, and proclaiming salvation to the spiritually lost. Christians meet for worship, teaching and encouragement on any day of the week and in any surroundings from the outdoors to the cathedrals. Christianity proclaims salvation, forgiveness and hope to any person who puts their trust in Jesus. What does it mean to be a Christian?Anyone who believes in, and follows Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour is a Christian, regardless of their 'status' in life or their history. A Christian strives to live a life that follows the teachings of Jesus Christ and has the ongoing hope of salvation, even when they 'fail to be perfect'.
How do I become a Christian? You can become a Christian at any place and at any time, either by yourself or with help from a trusted Christian friend.
