Reading through the Bible

Dear Church,
I am looking forward to all that 2011 holds and am excited about what God has already done and will continue to do in our church and in the community in which we witness.
Attached is a Bible Reading Guide which will help you to read through the entire Bible over the next two years. The decision to take this guide and read with us could be the most important decision you make this year! Here's why. Spiritual maturity doesn't just ‘happen.' Making the right decision under pressure has far less to do with a mysterious, undefinable, goodness than it does with the development of daily spiritual habits. I think that one of the most important habits that you can ever develop for spiritual growth is to read the Bible daily with a desire to act on what you have read.
I have been reading the Bible almost every day for ten years now and I cannot over-exaggerate the benefit it has been for me in my relationship with God. I'll be following the plan using the S.O.A.P. method of reflection (see http://thriveinchrist.blogger.com).
Starting 2011 without a plan for daily reading is unthinkable to me! Of course it doesn't have to be this plan, but you do need to plan how you are going to read God's Word.
Blessings to you.
