Here at Youth United, we are all about making life long disciples of Jesus. We are all about FUN, COMMUNITY & JESUS. Whilst we love our program, we love people more! So if this sounds like something for you, and you’re in year 7 – 12, keep reading below!
Due to the COVID-19 Situation and government restrictions, we are unable to meet together physically, but we are still meeting virtually throughout this time. We are all navigating the unknown at this time, but what we can hold tight to is that our hope is bigger.
During this time, we believe that contact is more important that the content provided. So we have adjusted our term program to implement this value. We want to remain connected & continue to point to Jesus. In saying this, we understand that we are all spending lots of time online as everything is done virtually during this time – it can be exhausting!
So here’s what Youth United will look like in Term 2:
24th April UNITE
1st May CHAT
8th May DTEAMS
15th May UNITE
22nd May CHAT
29th May DTEAMS
5th June UNITE
12th June CHAT
19th June DTEAMS
UNITES will consist of a youth group zoom run by our youth leaders that will have activities planned until 8:30pm with the opportunity to hang out together until 9pm, as this would usually occur at youth group and is such an important aspect that we love.
DTEAMS will consist of pre-recorded material to watch with their dteam and to then have dteam discussion, prayer & general check in.
CHAT NIGHTS are the newest addition to our virtual youth program. This will have no content created or activities planned for youth. This night is run by leaders & may look different for each group. The dteam leaders will be in contact with youth to let them know what their group will be doing. This could be a phone call, a group zoom, a text message and will look different from dteam to dteam.
These nights will involve varying participations including activities as well as conversations between youth and youth leaders just as would normally occur at youth group.
If you have any questions or comments about the Term 2 program, or wish to be a part of Youth United, please don’t hesitate to contact Kendal Seaton, our Youth and Young Adults Ministry Leader on firstname.lastname@example.org
In the coming months, we will be monitoring the government restrictions in place and will be providing further information and updates about Youth United, if and as the situation changes. So during this time, lets join together and do the thing that is most powerful… praying together as a community.
We take the safety of kids in our church very seriously. We screen all our leaders, and make sure they have the appropriate checks (Working with Children Check, Police Check, Ministry Screening etc.) before working with our kids, in accordance with the Baptist Union of Victoria guidelines and Australian law.
We also work to provide ongoing training in child safety and working with kids.
We aim to provide a safe and secure environment for our kids programs through our sign in/out procedure.
