Here at Wodonga and District Baptist Church we strongly believe that Christian Worship is for both Adults AND Children. We want to come alongside each family in nurturing their children in life and faith.
How do we do this? Each Sunday morning during the Victorian School terms, we offer 4 targeted programs for children from as young as 6 months all the way up to those in year 7. It is our desire that each child learns who Jesus is, that they are loved by him, and that they can feel safe in our community.
Our 4 programs are divided as follows:
Little Kids
The littlest in our congregation have a complete program where play, stories and songs are incorporated to help the kids learn that God made them, God loves them and Jesus wants to be their forever friend.
Junior Kids
As kids more active, so do our programs. Kids learn the stories and verses from the Bible, dance, play, and continue to develop relationships with their peers and the leaders in this room.
Big Kids
The kids engage with fun and relevant content to build a sense of understanding of the greatness of God, and what He has done for us. We worship, play games, use object lessons and stories, then break into smaller age specific groups for more personal chats, prayers, fun and build the sense of community.
6/7 Connect
The transition from primary to high school is a big jump, as is the jump from Kids Church to Youth Group. Through this understanding, 6/7 Connect was born. We begin by joining the larger worship service, then make our way to our own “hang out” area to learn about Jesus, faith and grow together as a group.
We take the safety of kids in our church very seriously. We screen all our leaders, and make sure they have the appropriate government checks (Working with Children Check, Police Check, Ministry Screening etc.) before working with our kids, in accordance with the Baptist Union of Victoria guidelines and Australian law.
We also work to provide ongoing training in child safety and working with kids.
We aim to provide a safe and secure environment for our kids programs.
